I’ve been trying to mix up my breakfasts recently as it’s been too chilly for my normal smoothies. Quinoa porridge was on the menu for a few weeks, followed by some homemade baked beans and then I decided it was time to make a new variety of granola.
Recipe: Mini Vegetable Frittatas
Is there anything better than mini versions of things, food included? I don’t think so, and these mini frittatas are no exception. Years ago when I was living in Amsterdam a friend and I made a whole set of mini things for some friends that had just moved to London – it’s amazing what you can find in miniature once you start looking! We had a mini table tennis set, mini cups and bowls and spoons, tiny cans of drink and all manner of other itty bitty things. It ended up being a rather large collection of very small things!
Review: The Joinery, Elwood
One recent Saturday B and I found ourselves in Elwood and in need of a feed, so decided to pick a cafe at random for lunch. We settled on The Joinery as it looked like it would have a few vegetarian friendly choices, and luckily we were right!

Pasta salad is something I usually associate with summer picnics, but I think it can work equally as well with autumn and winter flavours like pumpkin and I thought it would make a nice change for work lunches from soups!
