August GoodnessMe Box 2019 Review

It’s August GoodnessMe Box time! This month’s box was in collaboration with Women’s Health so unsurprisingly was packed with healthy goodies. I had some delivery issues this month (entirely at my end!) but the team at GoodnessMe Box were super helpful in solving them. Seriously, their customer service is top-notch. More importantly though, let’s see what was in the vegan box!

Australia’s Own Coconut Milk

I love both coconut milk and this brand, so I was very happy to see this in the August GoodnessMe Box! It’s creamy and delicious and has been working perfectly in my overnight oats for breakfast. I particularly love that it’s unsweetened, not to mention the fact it is certified organic. An excellent first item!

Pukka Herbs Teas

I have made a concerted effort lately to drink more tea, so my stash had almost completely been depleted. These two didn’t last long either, mostly because both flavours were particularly appealing to me! They were fruity without being too sweet, and made the perfect mid-afternoon pick-me-up. Delicious!

Cocobella Coconut Cultured Cider

I’m not much of a soft drink person but I do occasionally hanker for a slightly fizzy, refreshing option – which is why I love the small kombucha cans so much! As a result I was pretty keen to try this prebiotic, cultured coconut cider option, which I had never seen before. It was lightly fizzy, refreshing and had a great flavour. Definitely something I would pick again – plus the other flavours sound delicious!

Naked Harvest Pre-Workout Blend

I don’t usually have anything pre-workout, but was intrigued to give this a try. It was much tastier than I was expecting – fruity without being too sweet, which is something I’m always worried about. I can’t be sure it did anything much to support me during and post workout from one try, but it has some impressive ingredients so it can’t have hurt!

Republica Coffee Pods

I don’t have a pod coffee machine at home or work, so couldn’t try these ones out myself. I did hand them on to a friend though, and given I have tried and liked other coffee from this brand before I was pretty confident they would be delicious. They were very well received, so I’m glad they went to good use!

Nuzest Life Clean Lean Protein

I had tried Nuzest protein in previous GoodnessMe Boxes and always liked them. They blend well and I don’t find them super gritty like some brands. This vanilla matcha flavour was delicious, and I made it in to a smoothie bowl for a Sunday breakfast treat. So tasty!

Skinfood Gel Cleanser

I really like gel cleansers so I was very keen to give this one a try. From the couple of uses I got out of the tube I really liked it! My skin felt clean but still hydrated and it had a nice fresh, but not overpowering, scent to it. I’m definitely keen to try out more of this range given what I have seen in previous GoodnessMe Boxes.

Loco Love Vegan Chocolate

I had never heard of this chocolate brand before so I was excited to see it in the August GoodnessMe Box. The chocolate was smooth and delicious, an excellent balance of sweet and bitter. It apparently had tonic herbs in it as well, but the flavour of them wasn’t overly strong. Regardless, it was an excellent little treat!

Botanika Blends Brekky

I whipped this up for breakfast one chilly morning and it made for a quick and delicious porridge option. The apple pie flavour wasn’t overly strong, but it was still tasty and kept me nice and full all morning long. I topped it with a dollop of yoghurt and some sliced apple which was an excellent combo all round. I’d happily eat this again!

Bennetto Coconut Dark Chocolate

I have loved every Bennetto chocolate that I have tried, so I was very happy to see this in the August GoodnessMe Box. This was another winning flavour that I thoroughly enjoyed as an evening treat with a cup of tea. I’ve recently discovered these are stocked in a shop right near my house and it’s safe to say that’s a dangerous discovery for me!

Lavera Anti Ageing Cream

I always find these kinds of products the hardest to share thoughts about. I don’t think it’s possible to really know whether it lives up to its claims from this size sample. What I do know is that it felt lovely and moisturising on my skin, wasn’t greasy and absorbed quickly. These are all good signs that it would be an excellent product long term!
