Eco Gift Guide: Him & Her

And we’re back for my second gift guide of the festive season! Last week I shared a selection of gifts for the foodie in your life, and today I have an eco gift guide: him & her – featuring ethical and eco friendly clothes, accessories, beauty and more for the men and women in your life! I hope you find this helpful!

Eco Gift Guide: Him & Her

1. Aesop Skincare (from $15)

This page groenerekenkamer.com is a brand that do absolutely beautiful skin, hair and body products for both men and women. Their products are free from things like parabens, mineral oil and silicones and all packaging is fully recyclable. I don’t think anyone would be disappointed to find some Aesop products under the tree this Christmas!

2. Sudara Pajamas ($45)

Sudara sells ‘punjammies’, which are pj or lounge pants with a difference. Each pair is handcrafted by women in India who have been rescued from sex slavery, and are now given long term training and employment to help them rebuild their lives and break the cycle of poverty. The different styles are named after a woman that has escaped human trafficking through their program, and you can read about their stories on the website. The pajamas are gorgeous and made of 100% cotton so are perfect for this time of year, with the added bonus that you are making a real difference to the lives of these women, what more could you want!

3. Fair Trade Ring ($49.95)

This gorgeous Oxfam ring is hand crafted in Colombia by a business that works with low-income artisans and helps them establish more sustainable sources of income. I love a statement ring and this one certainly meets those requirements!

4. Wewood Watch (from $129)

Wewood makes watches for both men and women using recycled and reclaimed timber, which are both high quality and just outright attractive! Plus, for every watch purchased they plant a tree in one of their worldwide projects, which means you are making a positive impact on the environment through buying their watches. That’s my kind of business model.

5. Bike Bag ($89.95)

This bike bag is perfect for the stylish cyclist in your life as it not only clips easily onto bike racks or handlebars but is large enough to carry everything you need for the day ahead. It can also attach to strollers or luggage and is made of a durable, water resistant material so it will be gorgeous and useful for many years to come!

6. Wallet ($69.95)

This Oxfam wallet is made in India by an organisation which works with local craftspeople to teach them business skills, how to market their wares and other important skills. As with everything at Oxfam it is certified fair trade, plus it’s just a gorgeous wallet!

7. Beard Oil ($29)

If you have a bearded man in your life then treat them this Christmas with some all natural beard oil. These products are completely free from palm oil, parabens, synthetic fragrances, sulphates and a whole host of other nasties.

8. Eco Tools Makeup Brushes ($27.95)

These makeup brushes are made with a bamboo handle, synthetic (cruelty free) bristles and come in a cotton & hemp cases, so they tick all the eco friendly boxes. I’ve been using eco tools brushes for years and have bought this exact set as a gift for both my sister and mum in the past, so I can guarantee it will be well received! You could combine them with some natural makeup (Nude by Nature and Inika are two of my favourites) and really make their Christmas!

9. TOMS Shoes ($73)

TOMS do shoes for both men and women and everything from lace-ups to boots and, probably their most famous style, slip-ons. The thing that makes TOMS really stand out though is not just their comfortable, fashionable shoes, but the fact that for every pair sold they donate a pair to someone in need through their one-for-one program. Impressive!

10. Bamboo Dress ($99.95)

Bamboo is a really sustainable material and makes for an excellent clothing fabric as it’s naturally very breathable. This dress would make a wonderful gift, it’s a gorgeous colour and a flattering shape too. Dress it up, dress it down, add tights for winter – whoever you give it to will be able to get so much wear out of it!

11. TOMS Sunglasses ($139)

Much like with shoes, TOMS does stylish sunglasses for both men and women and they also donate money from each purchase to help restore sight to someone in need. It really is the best kind of Christmas shopping, you get to give a gorgeous gift and someone in needs gets something vital as well. Can’t beat that in my books!

There we have it, my eco gift guide: him & her edition! I hope you found some gift-inspiration!
