February Favourite Finds 2016

It’s time for my February favourite finds! February started rather quietly for me after getting my wisdom teeth out on the first day of the month which resulted in nearly 2 weeks off work and lots of mashed potato and ice cream (not together though!). Things definitely improved from there, including an excellent weekend with my family to celebrate my dad’s 60th birthday. So here are my February favourite finds, I’d love to hear yours too!

Honeybee Wraps

I finally got myself some of these honeybee food wraps^ and I have been using them constantly ever since. They are so incredibly handy and can be used to cover plates of leftovers, cut up fruit or veggies and pretty much anything else you would use glad wrap for. I bought the starter kit which includes three different sizes and I have a feeling I’ll need to get myself more! They’re super easy to clean as well which is always important!

Walnut Melbourne Shoes

I had been eyeing off a pair of Walnut Melbourne shoes for a while as I had heard they were incredibly comfortable, and this month I finally added a pair to a recent Birdsnest order. Everything I read was absolutely true, these shoes are so comfortable, making them perfect for someone like me that walks pretty much everywhere. I have a feeling I’ll be getting a second pair to take with me travelling to give me colour options! Seriously, I have worn these basically non-stop since I bought them, that’s how much I love them!

Vegetable Brush

I prefer not to peel my veggies unless absolutely necessary, and this vegetable brush^ is proving particularly excellent for reducing the need to get my peel on. I love that it has two different types of bristles, making it perfect for vegetables that need a good, hard scrub (like potatoes) and those that require a gentler action. It’s fast become a staple item in my kitchen and the oval shape makes it really easy to hold on to and simple to use as well.

Mini Golf

As part of our weekend adventures to celebrate my dad’s 60th we found ourselves playing a round of mini golf out at Yarra Bend Adventure Golf and it was so fun! I hadn’t played mini golf in well over a decade so I was rather rusty (particular compared to the rest of my family who actually play golf!) but that didn’t stop it being an excellent way to pass some time on a sunny Sunday afternoon. We only played 18 holes of the 36 available at Yarra Bend but even so there was an excellent mix of challenges, without being so tricky that it wasn’t fun. We didn’t lose a single ball either!

Reusable Produce Bags

I try really hard to avoid single use plastic bags and whilst I am generally pretty good at it, I still found myself occasionally having to use one when buying small items at the fruit & veggie shop or bulk buy store. I decided to get proactive and bought myself this set of reusable produce bags^. They come in a super handy bag which I now throw into my handbag or take them with me on my weekly shop and then pop my items straight into them. They are so light that they make no difference on the scales, and they hold a lot as well making them extra useful. I have a feeling I’ll be buying more of these to give to family & friends, they really do make life easier!
