July Favourite Finds 2016

It’s been a couple of months since I’ve shared some of my favourite new (and not so new!) discoveries thanks to my overseas adventures, but I’m back with my July Favourite Finds! As always I’d love to hear about anything new you’ve discovered lately – sharing is caring after all!

Slovenian Salt

Whilst this does fit under my travel adventures, I’ve really been using it since arriving back on Australian soil, so I think it still counts! Slovenia is known for its salt making so I decided it only made sense to bring some back to Australia with me, and I chose this flavoured version which has been absolutely amazing to cook with. Not only is the salt absolutely top-notch but the Mediterranean herbs make for a delicious addition as well. I may have to ration my usage or it will be gone in no time!

Minimalists Film

I’ve been a reader of The Minimalists for a few years now and this month I went along to a screening of their new documentary and it was fantastic. Not only did it drive home the message of the consequences of over-consumption but it showcased an array of styles of minimalism which I really enjoyed, showing that there is no one ‘right’ way to approach minimalism. It was a really eye-opening, inspiring and thought-provoking film and I’d highly recommend you seek out a screening, or otherwise download it yourself from their website!

Amazinger Face + Go To Skincare

I’m joining these two together because they are both the brainchild of Zoe Foster-Blake! I had read a lot about the skincare range she created – Go To Skincare – and finally bit the bullet to try out a few items and I think it’s only a matter of time before I add more to my repertoire! I love that they are free from all kinds of nasty ingredients (parabens, sulfates, synthetic fragrances and the like) and that they really seem to work for me. Plus, all the packaging is super cute and comes with hilarious messages and even a fortune cookie – a lovely bonus!

Amazinger Face is an update of a book Zoe released a few years back which I bought for my sister at the time, so I decided to get a copy for my own reading this time around! It’s full of really useful tips, information and advice relating to skincare, haircare and makeup which are achievable for even someone as lacking in skills as me! I love that she recommends products at all different price ranges, and that there are plenty of photos to show what is being described, as well as lots of witty asides along the way too!

Gertrude Street Projection Festival

For the 9th year in a row Gertrude Street has been transformed by projections both large and small and I absolutely love it. I’ve been up and down the street a few times while the festival has been on (one benefit of living so close by!) and I’m always finding new things to see, explore and interact with.

I love how it brings so much life to the street despite being the middle of winter – so if you’ve never come to see the Gertrude Street Projection Festival I highly recommend you pop it in your calendar for July next year. It will be the 10 year anniversary so it’s sure to be even more amazing!

Oh Zoe’s books and products look fab – I am terrible at all things make up and skincare related. The salt sounds super yummy too – wouldn’t it be wonderful if it was sold down under?!
