New Favourites in May

As we come to the end of another month I thought I would share with you some new finds (and an old one) I’ve made recently that have fast become firm favourites of mine, and are on high rotation in my household. I’d love to hear of any new finds you’ve made recently too!

First up is Hello Hair which is an Australian company that sells a hydrating treatment which is full of natural ingredients like coconut, almond and argan oil and free from any nasties. The mask is completely Australian made and suitable for vegans and a friend of mine had been raving about it, so I knew I had to give it a try. My hair is the longest it’s probably ever been and given it’s a long way from my natural colour I like to do what I can to keep it as healthy and strong as possible.

Hello Hair

I’ve been using Hello Hair roughly once every 10 days for a few weeks now and I love it. My hair stays hydrated and smooth for ages afterwards and it’s definitely feeling much healthier all round. It smells delicious too! I think it’s safe to say there will be Hello Hair in my bathroom cupboard from now on!

Sticking with the bathroom theme, another new find is dry body brushing. I had read all about the benefits but only recently got around to trying it out for myself, after taking Smaggle’s advice and buying myself a cactus brush from the Body Shop. I’ve been using it every morning before my shower for a few weeks now and I love how tingly it makes my skin. It really wakes me up and it’s helping to smooth out my skin. If you want to read more about body brushing you can have a read here!

An old favourite of mine is Sukin skincare, another great Australian brand making products free from anything harmful to both our bodies and the planet and now that the weather has cooled down I’ve pulled back out my Sukin Rosehip oil which I apply a few drops of every night after cleansing my skin. It’s so nourishing and is keeping my skin nice and hydrated even after spending time both outside in the cold and in heated offices and shops. It may not be a new find, but it’s a favourite nonetheless! You can read more about my love for Sukin right here!

I’ve long been a fan of Thankyou and all they are doing to give back to the global community through the aid programs linked to their water, food and healthcare products. Only recently did I manage to get my hands on their body care range and I have been trying out their hand wash for the past few weeks. I bought the sweet orange & almond with tonka beans and spring flowers scent and it smells really delicious. Even better than that, it works really well as a hand wash too! Thanks to the all natural ingredients it doesn’t dry my hands out and leaves them feeling squeaky clean. Knowing that by choosing this product instead of any other on the market will result in people in need getting health & hygiene training is an excellent plus too! You can read more about Thankyou and their work here.

Last but not least, my sister bought me a subscription to Green Magazine for my birthday and I’m now onto my second edition and really enjoying it. It’s a magazine that focusses on sustainable design including architecture, gardens and product design from Australia and around the world. Whilst most of the ideas aren’t feasible in my little apartment I still love reading about the amazing ideas people have and dreaming about what I might be able to achieve down the track. Sustainable cities and design are things I’ve been interested in for a quite a long time so I’m really enjoying my bimonthly peek into what’s happening in the field.

    Hey there,

Sorry if I’m a bit slow to catch on, but loving the new look on the site!

I always use the Sukin Rosehip oil – every now and again I put a big dollop on my skin before going to bed.

I’m really loving their face scrub at the moment too, such good products and a great ethos to boot!

I love dry brushing, it is pretty much the only thing I regularly do. I try and get into good skin/body routines, but I seem to always drop out of them pretty quickly. I just love the tingle of dry brushing though! So. Good.

I’m the same, so often I start things but somehow they drop away, but dry body brushing appears to be sticking around!

My husband uses Sukin Rosehip Oil as his face moisturiser as it’s the only thing that works for his dry skin (and I steal it too!). We have that exact Thankyou handwash in our kitchen – it’s beautiful.

I’m so glad you liked the cactus brush! People went MENTAL for them. Best purchase ever. I’m loving chicken and corn packet soup at the moment. So easy to grab from the supermarket and makes for a super easy dinner!

Yeah it’s so good! I got the last brush at the Body Shop near my work too, clearly a popular purchase! I love a good soup for dinner, I’m still working through the backlog in my freezer (I went a little mental a while back making huge batches!) but I’ll need some new varieties soon I reckon!
