After making my bliss balls a few times I decided it was time to branch out and try some different flavour combinations. I had a bag of dried apricots that I was using in a different recipe, so decided to do an apricot and almond version and they turned out rather delish! They’re just as simple to make as the bliss balls, so if you liked those, maybe give these a try too!
It’s been an up and down last week for me, but luckily the countdown is now officially on until B and I head off on a little tropical holiday to Vanuatu, so at least I’ve been keeping busy with preparations for that – which is lots of fun! (more…)
About a year ago I gifted myself a fancy-pants digital SLR camera (the Nikon D5100 if anyone is interested) with an equally fancy lens. I love the camera but as I have no background in photography I knew I wasn’t getting the most out of it by leaving it on automatic mode and barely touching any of the features. I had tried reading the manual and even watched a few tutorials on youtube, but none of it was making any sense. As B and I have a little holiday coming up in May I decided it was time to bite the bullet and learn how to properly use the camera, so I enrolled in an intensive Basic Digital SLR Photography Course through the Centre for Adult Education (CAE) in Melbourne.
April has ended and that means the end of this months Fat Mum Slim Photo a Day Challenge and the Fox In Flats Style Dare. I’m pretty proud that I managed to complete every day of both challenges, and I had a lot of fun doing it! The May Challenges are now out on both their websites and I challenge you to join me for the next month of fun! B and I are heading away this month for a few weeks so I’m not sure I will be able to be able to do every day this month, but I’ll be giving it my best shot!
I never used to like zucchini, I’d turn my nose up when mum served it, and would never think of ordering a zucchini-based dish. How times have changed! Now I use zucchini all the time, and whilst I wouldn’t ever just snack on it as is, I find it such a versatile and easy to use veggie that it is popping up in all kinds of dishes these days! Case in point – a zucchini and corn slice!
