Recipe: Almond & Ginger Slice

We had a celebratory afternoon tea at work recently for a colleague and I knew I wanted to bake something that wasn’t overly sweet, and it also needed to travel well (I’ve learnt the hard way that cupcakes don’t tend to look that pretty at the end of my 2.5km walk to work!). A nutty, zingy slice seemed like the perfect option, and this almond & ginger slice was just the ticket!

Ingredients to Avoid: Petroleum in Skincare

It’s been a little while since I last did a post in my ingredients to avoid series, so I thought it was about time I did something about that! Today I wanted to focus on petroleum in skincare (and lip balm too!). Obviously petroleum is in so many things that we can’t avoid it completely in our lives, but avoiding it in skincare is an excellent place to start!

Recipe: Banana Walnut Muffins

I found myself with a fruit bowl full of rather ripe bananas over the weekend and, as it was a little fresh to fancy a smoothie, muffins seemed like the obvious next choice. I wanted to keep them as healthy as possible so went light on the sugar content, and threw in some nuts and lots of cinnamon to ensure they are still full of flavour. The end result was these banana walnut muffins and they were the perfect treat for work during the week!
