Recipe: Strawberry Oat Muffins

Berry season is one of my favourite times of the year and when I saw strawberries for 99 cents a punnet at my local fruit & vege shop I knew I needed to pick up a few quick smart – some for eating, some for smoothies and some for these strawberry oat muffins!

Ingredients to Avoid: Microbeads

After the response I got to my surprisingly non-vegetarian foods post (and a huge thankyou to for sharing it around, I’m so glad it was helpful!) I thought I would start a new series here on I Spy Plum Pie, focusing on ingredients we should all be avoiding. Sometimes it will be a food, and other times something that shows up in skincare, makeup or other household items and we’re kicking things off with microbeads!

Recipe: Vegetable Rolls

As a vegetarian, pies and sausage rolls are unsurprisingly not something I eat very often as it can be hard to find one that holds much appeal. So when I had a strange craving for a veggie-filled pastry lunch recently I knew the only solution was to make some of my own, and the result was these vegetable rolls!

Trupp Cooking School Fermented Foods Class & a Giveaway!

 I attended the class as a guest of Trupp’s Cooking School

No doubt you’ve seen by now that fermented foods are making a rather large comeback in Australia right now, with drinks like kombucha and foods like kimchi becoming much easier to find in our shops and restaurants. I’ve been trying to introduce them to my diet but hadn’t gotten to the point of actually making my own at home, so when I was invited along to the Lost Art of Fermented Foods Class at Trupp Cooking School I jumped at the chance to learn more!
