Chemical Free Weed Control

Lucky for me my little balcony garden doesn’t seem to attract weeds (caterpillars and aphids on the other hand, they love it!), but I know many of you that have ground level gardens aren’t quite so lucky! So, I’ve done some research and today I thought I’d share my learnings on chemical free weeding so you can have a flourishing garden without having to rely on nasty chemicals.

10 Uses for Lemons Around the Home

Lemons are by far one of the most useful fruits to have on hand around the home, which is why a lemon tree was the first plant I bought for my balcony! Unfortunately it’s not mature enough yet to bear fruit, but I’m kept in a pretty good lemon supply in the meantime from my parents and a colleague at work. That’s the other fantastic thing about lemons, you’re almost guaranteed to know someone who has excess at home, or be able to find a lemon tree that is growing over public land (hanging over the back of a laneway is common around my area!), so you shouldn’t need to resort to buying them too often. Today, I wanted to share my top 10 uses for lemons around the home – they sure are versatile!

Recipe: Apple Strawberry Crumble Cake

I recently had a few family friends over for an afternoon tea to celebrate being in my little apartment for a year (how time flies!) and as it’s not an afternoon tea with cake I knew I had to get my bake on. I wanted to make use of the delicious summer fruits while they are still around in abundance, so an apple strawberry crumble cake was the answer!

Review: Major Major, Collingwood

Major Major opened at the southern end of Smith Street late in 2014 and I visited not long after for lunch with my family and we were all mightily impressed with the food. B and I decided it was about time we returned to try their breakfast offerings and I actually remembered to take my camera this time!
