Our first meal of our weekend away in Daylesford was dinner at the Farmers Arms, a gorgeous 1857 pub just a short walk from the main street in town. It has a great combination of casual front bar where locals were watching the footy, and a more fancy dining room where we were lucky to score a table almost immediately (they don’t take bookings).
Recipe: Baked Eggplant Fries
Anyone that knows me knows I am a massive AFL fan, to a rather ridiculous point. I will happily watch pretty much any match, even if my beloved Sydney Swans aren’t playing – case in point, I went along to the MCG last Friday night despite the Swans having a week off! Now that the finals series is well and truly upon us I thought I would share a recipe for something perfect to snack on while watching the footy – Baked Eggplant Fries (scarf and theme song singing totally optional).
Review: Collingwood Children’s Farm Cafe
For well over a year now B and I have been planning to head down to the Collingwood Children’s Farm Cafe to check out the food and play with the animals. For some reason it just kept not happening but finally the planets aligned and on a sunny Sunday we wandered down for some brunch and to see the new baby goats.

Weekend Adventures: Daylesford
Last weekend B and I headed to Daylesford, about 90 minutes from Melbourne, to belatedly celebrate our anniversary. We headed out of town around lunchtime on the Friday and were stupendously lucky with the weather, it was blue skies and sunshine the whole three days!
