Ahh falafels. As a vegetarian I’ve eaten many a falafel in my time, and sadly many of them have been dry and unappealing. I’d been trying to think of something new to make for my work lunches and kept finding myself drawn to wraps and the like, so decided it was time to set aside my bad history of falafels and make some for myself!

Recipe: Apple Cinnamon Cookies

I hadn’t been doing much baking lately, but I re-sparked my love for baked goods with my recent banana oat loaf, so when I found myself with some apples sitting in my fruit bowl I decided they needed to find their way into something baked as well, so cookies it was! With cinnamon as the natural partner to apples I knew it needed to be part of the plan, and then threw in some walnuts for their crunch factor, and then I was away!

Recipe: Sweet Potato & Chickpea Stew

After making lots of soups and curries I wanted to make a different kind of hearty meal for the cold, wintery nights we’re finally having so a stew it is! I’ve always loved sweet potato (almost as much as normal potato!) and you can’t keep me away from chickpeas so this was definitely right up my alley. The combination of lots of veggies and spices made for a delicious, warming meal which also made lots of leftovers to stock my freezer for the weeks ahead.

Pubs for Vegetarians: The Cornish Arms

It’s been a while since the last stop on my Pubs for Vegetarians tour, but I’m back today with a visit to the Cornish Arms Hotel in Brunswick! I had heard lots of good things about their menu but had never made it over, so when B and I found ourselves on Sydney Road late one Saturday afternoon I knew where we needed to head for dinner!
