Recipe: Sweet Potato & Broccolini Ramen

Despite the fact this looks like a pasta dish, that is in fact ramen on the bottom there! I whipped this up the other evening when short on time and ideas for dinner and I was super happy with the combination that I thought I should probably share! Everything cooks in under 20 minutes so then it’s just a matter of putting it all together and pouring some marinade over the top and you’re done!

Review: Monk Bodhi Dharma Cafe

After successfully follow Cindy & Michael’s suggestion of trying Bayte cafe for brunch I had no hesitation trying out another cafe that they raved about in recent weeks – Monk Bodhi Dharma in Balaclava. Tucked away down a back lane way off Carlisle Street I probably would have never found this place, but I’m very glad I did! The have an entirely vegetarian (and egg free) menu and most items are able to be vegan-ised, made gluten free and in some cases sugar free as well. Impressive!

Recipe: Potato Rosti

These potato rostis work equally as well as part of a weekend brunch as they do as an easy lunch or dinner. For brunch they are an excellent complement to some poached eggs and avocado and for dinner I serve them with a big green salad – talk about versatile! You can even make them a little in advance and just reheat them in the oven on a low temperature, so you don’t have to worry about timing if you are doing a brunch cook up for a few people. Wins all round!

Review: Woodspoon Kitchen

One recent Saturday night B and I headed to Woodspoon Kitchen on Smith Street in Collingwood for dinner. We had been years ago (actually, on our second date!) and had really enjoyed it, so decided it was time to go back and feast on some delicious Japanese food. Woodspoon has a large number of vegetarian and vegan options and they are all clearly marked, which is always a plus. There’s nothing worse than ordering something that sounds vegetarian only to find out when it arrives that it’s not!
