September Favourite Finds 2016

My September Favourite Finds are very liquid heavy this time around – from the healthy to the not so healthy kind! I had a pretty excellent month all round, including a glorious week spent in sunny Port Douglas (more on that in a separate post!) and lots of other fun times along the way. I’d love to hear what your favourite finds were this month as well!

Stomping Ground Brewery

If you follow me on instagram you may have seen a few photos of a brewery pop up in my feed this month, and it’s for good reason! A new brewery/beer hall has opened in my neighbourhood and I have been in to visit a few times already, that’s how much I enjoy it!

Not only is the beer delicious but the building itself is gorgeous, with comfy booths, an open air section and even an awesome looking cubby house for kids, making it perfect for people of all ages. The full menu isn’t in operation yet, but hopefully it will up the vegetarian-friendly content and if so I’ll pretty much be moving in! Seriously, if you find yourself in the Collingwood area make sure you check it out (and do let me know so I can meet you there!).

Iced Lattes

After spending a week in tropical north Queensland I reminded myself of the joy that is iced lattes and I haven’t looked back since! I do love a cold coffee but I’m not a fan of the ones topped with cream or ice cream (at least not for everyday consumption!) so an iced latte is the perfect compromise. It’s definitely going to be another summer of iced lattes in my house!

Live Podcasts

My love of podcasts is very well documented here on the blog so this month I took a few opportunities to support some of my favourite podcasts by going along to live recordings. The first was part of the Australian tour of The Dollop which was in equal parts hilarious and horrific and left me crying with laughter multiple times. I then headed along to a live recording of Junktime AFL Podcast which included Fevola and Bomber Thompson as guests which was both really interesting and entertaining – it’s well worth a listen if you’re a fan of AFL! Last but not least I got a live-pass to the LA Podcast Festival which is on this weekend. I am planning on streaming a whole host of amazing shows across the weekend (including The Dollop, TOFOP, My Favorite Murder and Stuff You Should Know). They archive the shows and you can watch them for a few weeks afterwards, so it’s well worth checking out if you’re a podcast fan!

Smoothies

With Spring in the air I have been right back in smoothie-town this month and absolutely loving it. I’ve been experimenting with new flavours and combos and there have been some absolute winners so far! Creamy smoothies have been high on rotation with matcha and avocado both featuring heavily and I can’t see myself getting off the smoothie train anytime soon!

It definitely brings a different element to it, I enjoy then listening to the episode when they release it and remembering what they might have been doing on stage at certain points!
