The Problem With Takeaway Coffee Cups

Drinking coffee is most definitely one of my favourite daily activities and living in Melbourne means there is no shortage of excellent cafes to treat myself to a takeaway coffee from. Unfortunately if you’re not careful all this coffee drinking can result in some not so pleasant side-effects for the planet, so today I wanted to talk about the problem with takeaway coffee cups and what to use instead! Instead of buying takeaway coffee, consider buying a coffee maker instead as there are a wide range of affordable and wonderful coffee machines now available.

2015 Eco-Resolutions

Reducing my impact on the planet is something I think about a lot and whilst I know I’ve gotten better over the years there’s definitely still room for improvement! Like most people, some weeks I’m better than others, and I’m better at some elements than others, so this year I have decided to set myself some eco-resolutions! Resolutions are generally better met if they are committed to publicly, so I thought I’d share them with you all today!

How To: Storing Fruit & Vegetables

Recently when I wrote about compost options for apartments I mentioned the statistic that 40% of the average Australian bin is made up of food scraps and whilst composting them is better than throwing them away, what would be even better is to avoid as much of the food waste as possible! So, today I wanted to share some hints and tips for storing common fruits and vegetables to lengthen their life, as there is nothing worse than going to the fridge and finding that your produce has gone limp, or even worse, black and gooey. That’s no fun for anyone!
