Over the Easter weekend my parents and I took a road trip to Canberra to visit my sister, and I’m ashamed to say it was my first visit to our nation’s capital! This is particularly bad given I am an urban planner and wrote many an essay on Canberra’s beginnings during my uni days. We had an excellent weekend exploring much of what Canberra had to offer, so I thought I would share some of the highlights here, so on to my Weekend Adventures: Canberra!
5 Things I Love About The Meredith Music Festival
Last weekend I made my twice-yearly pilgrimage to a farm outside of the little town of Meredith in country Victoria, to the Meredith Music Festival. Back in March I wrote about the newer kid on the block – Golden Plains festival – but this time it was the original Meredith to shine for the 23rd time.
Weekend Adventures: Sydney
Last week I managed to skidaddle off work early on Thursday and jumped on a plane to Sydney to spend a long weekend with my sister to celebrate her birthday. She moved to Sydney earlier in the year and it was the first time I had been to visit her (although not my first visit to Sydney) and I had an excellent time exploring, eating, wandering and then eating some more. A couple of food stops were so delicious they will be getting a post all of their own, but today I wanted to share some of my weekend adventures with you!
Wintery Weekend Adventures: Phillip Island
Last weekend B and I headed down to his family’s holiday house on Phillip Island for a little getaway. It was very different from our last visit in February which was all about picnics and ocean swimming, this time we were much more rugged up and most of our weekend was focussed on food, which was quite fine by me! Warning – lots of photos to come!
Weekend Adventures: Playing Tourist in Melbourne
Despite the fact B’s birthday was way back in February (and we spent it playing with baby wombats!) this weekend he finally got his present from me – a night playing tourist here in Melbourne. I organised us tickets to the comedy festival, dinner, cocktails and booked a hotel room and it was such a lovely way to spend some time together without having to leave our hometown!
