April GoodnessMe Box 2020 Review

It’s April GoodnessMe Box review time! The April box was perfect for these times of self-isolation, with a combo of snacks, baking goodies and skincare. As per usual I got the vegan version of the April GoodnessMe Box – here’s what was inside!

Edenvale Non-Alcoholic Sparkling Rose

I haven’t given this alcohol-free wine a try yet, but I am looking for a good mocktail recipe to try it in. Even in isolation I am not drinking during the week (mostly!), so usually stick to sparkling water in the evenings. Having something fancier on hand is probably not a bad idea – so if anyone can point me towards an excellent recipe to try this in please do!

Raw C Sparkling Coconut Water

I love a sparkling water, and a sparkling coconut water is pretty excellent as well. Watermelon is never my favourite flavour, however this combo with the coconut and lime was pretty delicious and made for an excellent change to keep me hydrated through my work day.

Macro Mike Protein Bar

I had tried this bar in a previous box and enjoyed it, so was happy to see it in the April GoodnessMe Box too! It’s a tasty little treat that came in very handy on one of the very long working days I had recently – enabling me to power through to dinner time. For a protein bar this has a good texture with no strange aftertaste or grainy texture that they often can. I am keen to try the almond one next!

Dr Superfoods Dark Chocolate Berries

These were another excellent snack treat in the April GoodnessMe Box. What more could you want than dark choc coated cherries! A great balance of sweet, bitter and tartness, this packet didn’t hang around long in my house that’s for sure.

Ananda Food Hemp Flour

Unlike seemingly everyone else, I haven’t been doing much baking since being in isolation. However, I have used a little of this flour in combination with plain flour for the baking I have done. I enjoy the flavour it adds – although I’m not sure it would work well in everything! It’s perfect for things like savoury muffins in particular – which I don’t mind having a whole batch of myself!

Elektra Magnesium Cream

I have a magnesium oil I use regularly on sore muscles and to hopefully help me sleep, so I was intrigued to try this one as well. I originally thought I would save it for the next time I travel, but that could be a while away! So, I gave it a try over the last week or so and I’m really liking it. Citrus zest is a nice addition too!

Extraordinary Foods Hemp Parmesan

I have gone through lots of this stuff over the last couple of years, so it’s safe to say I’m a fan. In fact I have the entire range in my pantry at the moment! I use this (and the cashew version) in things like my pestos, pasta sauces and the like so I’m always happy to have my hands on more!

Koja Protein Bar

I don’t think I had tried one of these protein bars before, but I am happy I now have! This was another excellent snack option in the April GoodnessMe Box – especially this choc chip flavour. I really liked the texture of this bar, and the size was perfect for a mid-afternoon pick me up. Definitely keen to try more!

Jomei’s Fine Foods Cacao Latte

Last but definitely not least was this cacao latte powder. I love that this has a hint of vanilla and salt mixed in, making it a more complex flavour than straight hot-chocolate. I’ve only made one so far, but with the temperature starting to dip alarmingly I think this will be on high rotation through winter in my house!
