It’s August Favourite Finds time and it’s always an eclectic bunch around these parts, and this month is no different! New goodies, cooking adventures and a liquid or two. I’d love to hear yours too!
Melbourne Ceramics Market
I headed along to the first Melbourne Ceramics Market and whilst it was oh-so-busy, there were also so many amazing local makers on show. It took quite a lot of restraint to not buy up the whole place, but I was very happy with what I did bring home!
The gorgeous plate below is made by my friend Georgie. I had been wanting to buy some of her stuff for ages, so I wasn’t going to miss my chance this time! The earrings are by Amelia Kingston and I’ve worn them so often since I bought them. They get comments all the time too! I’ll definitely be heading along to future ceramics markets – I love supporting local artists and it’s so easy when the stuff is so beautiful!
Sri Lankan Curry
My folks went to Sri Lanka recently and because they know me so well they came home with food related gifts for me. The one I have been playing with this month is this spice mix and it’s SO good. My love of curries is pretty well documented, and whilst this one is definitely on the hot side it’s also full of flavour. I’m a little nervous I’ll run out super soon, but I also know it’s best used fresh, so it’s a bit of a battle for me!
Vinomofo has been in my favourites before, but that’s because every time it’s so good! I order from them whenever my wine stocks start dwindling and in no time at all a new case appears on my doorstep. Plus, the quality and price are hard to beat as well. I highly recommend giving them a go if you haven’t already!
This is a bit of an odd one, but this month I’ve returned to long blacks as my coffee of choice and loving it. I drink most of my coffee at home, so when I do buy them I go to places that do excellent coffee. So it makes sense to order long blacks! I drink a lot of iced long blacks in summer, but I think they’ll be appearing more over the next few months too!
