Holiday Adventures: Takaka New Zealand

Last Thursday my family and I hopped across the ditch, back to our homeland of New Zealand to attend my cousin’s wedding. It was being held in somewhat of an isolated location, so required us flying from Melbourne to Christchurch, then on to Nelson, towards the top of the South Island.

Gelato World Tour Melbourne

Despite the fact Melbourne hasn’t had the warmest of Springs, on the weekend of the 25-27 October it played host to the Australian leg of the Gelato World Tour, which was held in Argyle Square in Carlton. Each gelato maker presents one flavour and is judged by a panel of experts, as well as votes by the public, with the top three heading to the Grand Finale in Italy in 2014. (more…)

Holiday Adventures: Coolum, Queensland

They are operating on a monthly rotation and there is a full bar and quite a lot of seating as it is held in the grounds of Village Melbourne (which will always be the Belgian Beer Garden to me!).

Sydney Exploring: Yullis Bar

For my sister’s birthday dinner we met up with two of her work friends and went to Yullis Bar on Crown Street in Surry Hills. Yullis is an all-vegetarian restaurant with an international menu that is designed to be shared, which is always okay with me as it means you get to try more of the food! The restaurant was packed so we sat upstairs in the bar area which still has access to the full menu, it just has stools and low tables. This wasn’t a problem for us though!
