Pubs for Vegetarians: The Gasometer Hotel

It’s been a while since I posted the last stop on my Pubs for Vegetarians tour, so I thought it was about time I headed out and tried somewhere new to share with you all! In the end I didn’t have to venture far as we decided to head back to the The Gasometer Hotel which is only a few minutes walk away! B and I had eaten there once before, but the menu changes seasonally, so we decided it was time for another visit to see what they have on offer at the moment!

Review: Little Lane Espresso, Coolum

As I mentioned in my post about my few days in Coolum, each day included a morning stop for coffee. Lucky for me, my dad had tried out most of the coffee options before I got there and had settled on Little Lane Espresso as being the best on offer. The cafe is tiny, with just a few tables down a laneway (hence the name!) and it wouldn’t have looked out of place in Melbourne at all. It was always busy with locals and tourists alike, with extremely friendly staff who not only made delicious coffee but stopped to chat and even remembered our orders after only a day or so of visiting – impressive! Review: Monk Bodhi Dharma Cafe

After successfully follow Cindy & Michael’s suggestion of trying Bayte cafe for brunch I had no hesitation trying out another cafe that they raved about in recent weeks – Monk Bodhi Dharma in Balaclava. Tucked away down a back lane way off Carlisle Street I probably would have never found this place, but I’m very glad I did! The have an entirely vegetarian (and egg free) menu and most items are able to be vegan-ised, made gluten free and in some cases sugar free as well. Impressive!

Review: Woodspoon Kitchen

One recent Saturday night B and I headed to Woodspoon Kitchen on Smith Street in Collingwood for dinner. We had been years ago (actually, on our second date!) and had really enjoyed it, so decided it was time to go back and feast on some delicious Japanese food. Woodspoon has a large number of vegetarian and vegan options and they are all clearly marked, which is always a plus. There’s nothing worse than ordering something that sounds vegetarian only to find out when it arrives that it’s not!

Review: N2 Extreme Gelato

After hearing a lot about the new gelato joint on Brunswick Street – N2 Extreme Gelato – I decided I had to go check it out, so B and I headed up on a Saturday evening to see what all the fuss is about. N2 started in Sydney, and what makes them different is all the gelato is made on the spot using liquid nitrogen. The theory being that the liquid nitrogen causes the gelato to freeze faster resulting in creamier, smoother gelato. Plus, there’s also the spectacle of seeing liquid nitrogen!
