Loving Earth are a Melbourne based company who are dedicated to providing organic, fair trade, sustainable products from small producers across the world. They sell super foods and raw chocolate, and their range is impressive – including butters and spreads, ancient superfoods like goji berries and maca powder, raw cacao products, fruit, nuts and seeds, and natural sweeteners.
Living Sustainably Locally
One of the easiest ways to live more sustainably is to live as locally as possible – which means supporting local businesses, buying locally produced fruit and veggies and leaving the car at home whenever you can. This can be tricky however if you don’t know what is available in your local area, or how to find out more to inform your choices. I have come across some websites that I think are great resources and worth bookmarking – so I thought I’d share them with you!
Sustainable Magazines
In my quest to learn more and more about living sustainably I have been doing a lot of reading. Most of this occurs online but often I want to disconnect myself from my laptop and be able to do my reading other places – most recently at the pool after the hot-spell Melbourne just had! Cue: Green Magazines.
Meat Free Week Challenge
Next week – the 18th to 24th of March is the inaugural Meat Free Week Challenge, which is an Australian initiative to encourage people to eat less meat, and at the same time raise some funds for Voiceless – an organisation that work to raise awareness about factory farming and the impact that eating too much meat has on animal welfare, the planet and our own health.
Spotlight on: Sukin
For me, part of wanting to live as sustainably as possible includes not only what I eat but what I put on my skin as well. There are some great natural skincare and cosmetic companies out there, and I thought I would start by profiling a company I have been using for the last year or so, Sukin.
