Guest Post: An Ode to Breakfast

I’m currently sunning myself on the beaches of Vanuatu, so while I’m away I asked some of my favourite bloggers to share a post with you all. Today’s post is from the lovely Hannah from Nellie and Oliver!

Hi guys, it’s Hannah here from Nellie and Oliver and today I would like to talk about breakfast. I’m a huge breakfast fan. Don’t even try and talk to me in the morning if I haven’t eaten. You’ve had your warning!

A quick scroll through the camera roll on my Iphone is a testament to my love for breakfast (and photographing things I eat, I’ll admit it). Whether it’s a weekend breakfast outing to one of my local cafes or a homemade feast – I’m very easily pleased either way. I tend to go for savory instead of sweet most of the time but the odd pancakes or waffles every now and then doesn’t go astray. Week days are a little less exciting due to lack of time but lately I’ve been enjoying porridge and raspberries every day.

I’m a vegetarian like Liz and I also love cooking. Recently I invented one of the yummiest cooked breakfasts I’ve had in a while. I was trying to use up a lot of food we had in the fridge and I ended up making an amazing breakfast burrito. I did this by frying off some tomatoes, onions and jalapenos with a bit of taco seasoning mixed in. I then scrambled some eggs into that mixture and served it on tortillas with a bit of cheese, sour cream and spinach leaves. It was the best! Unfortunately I don’t have the photo of this to prove how great it was – you will just have to take my word for it.

What is your favourite thing to have for breakfast?

P.S Thanks to Liz for inviting me to this guest post and I hope she’s having an amazing holiday!

Your breakfasts look amazing Hannah! I’m more of a weekend breakfaster but prefer to hand the duties over to my local cafe 🙂 I could never poach eggs the way they do!

Thanks Lisa. There’s nothing better than going out for breakfast! I went today actually and had amazing poached eggs on toast with mushrooms and haloumi cheese. It was incredible.
