It’s May Favourite Finds time! Considering I spent the very start of the month finishing up my holiday in the USA it was tempting to just list the entire holiday, but I won’t do that to you! Instead, my May Favourite Finds are almost all new cooking goodies for the kitchen! Some of them I did pick up in the USA though, so it still gets a mention!
Spices from America
I may as well kick off my May favourite finds with the American portion! I didn’t do a whole lot of shopping while on holidays, but I do love bringing home some goodies to add into my cooking rotation. The Trader Joe’s Everything But The Bagel seasoning was a no-brainer, but the Green Goddess seasoning is equally delicious. I have been using both of them regularly since returning!
The Creole seasoning was recommended to us while on a tour in New Orleans – we were told it basically can be found in every pantry in town! I therefore couldn’t not pick some up and it’s been delicious on veggies and beans and the like. I’ll be looking up some good recipes to use it in over the colder months for sure!
Vegan Chilli Sambal
I picked up this sambal at the Big Vegan Market and boy is it delicious. So much flavour, and an excellent amount of kick as well. I have been adding it to marinades, but have some laksas in my future I think. I tried a bunch of products at this stall and was really impressed – it took some significant restraint not to buy more, but I feel like an order may have to be placed soon. The caramelised pineapple sauce and the vegan dipping sauce were next in line to be purchased I think!
Saucier Chilli Crisps
This chilli sauce was another Big Vegan Market purchase! It’s not only got a delicious heat to it, it’s also packed with crispy garlic, shallots and mushrooms so it’s got some really great flavour and some crunch to boot. I’ve been drizzling it on eggs, putting it on noodles, adding it to soup bases – you name it! A versatile and delicious addition to my kitchen this month, that’s for sure!
Last but not least for my May Favourite Finds is some new Rollie shoes! My love for Rollie’s is well documented – they were the staple of my travel wardrobe and stood up so well to big days of walking (over 20km some days!). So I feel like I did well only buying one pair in their recent sale (and choosing from the 50% off section!) and they have quickly gone into high rotation. So comfortable, and so easy to wear with pretty much anything!
