Mid Year Stocktake

Woah, July, how did that happen?! 2014 has been a big one so far, starting with a bang with me moving into my first home in January, and lots of adventures in the months since. I decided now was a good time to look back on what’s been happening, what I’ve been loving and to make some plans for the months ahead.

I Spy Plum Pie Mid Year Stocktake

Back in August 2013 Pip from Meet Me At Mike’s created a list to take stock of what she’d been up to and enjoying in the previous months and it quickly spread around the blogisphere with lots of other bloggers sharing their versions both then, and in the months since. Now I’m joining the fun too! You can see her original post here!

Making: lists, always! To-do lists, to-cook lists, to-visit lists, you name it!
Cooking: lots of winter warming meals like this delicious curry
Drinking: bucketloads of peppermint tea at work, and some sneaky red wines at home
Reading: again! I’m back to reading every night before bed and loving it. A mix of biographies, mysteries and a bit of chic-lit for fun!
Wanting: more hours in the day!

Vegan Chickpea and Cauliflower Curry

Looking: forward to longer daylight hours so I can actually make use of them during the week!
Playing: along with the Fox In Flats Style Dare on Instagram (it’s not too late to join the fun either!)
Deciding: what to cook next – a constant in my head!
Wishing: I was somewhere warm and sunny, maybe back in Vanuatu?
Enjoying: weekend snuggles on the couch watching movies with B

Waiting: for the return of some of my favourite tv shows
Liking: mid-week catch-ups with friends
Wondering: how fast the rest of the year will fly by!
Loving: all the great people I’ve connected with through this blog (and the I Spy Plum Pie facebook page and instagram)
Pondering: what to buy my sister for her upcoming 30th birthday
Considering: booking a weekend in Daylesford with B for our anniversary (any tips on places to stay and/or eat?)

Watching: Masterchef! I stopped watching it for the last few years but I’m liking this season!
Hoping: the Sydney Swans keep playing this well for the rest of the footy season
Marvelling: at how lovely people can be!
Needing: some time off – scheduling in the odd day or two off is so good for the soul!
Smelling: scented candles burning on my desk (these from 1Skin solution are on high rotation at the moment!)

Wearing: wintery layers, thick socks and boots
Following: my stomach (it’s louder than my head most of the time!)
Noticing: how much better I’m feeling since getting back into regular exercise (I know, how groundbreaking!)
Knowing: how lucky I am
Thinking: about what to do next, in so many respects

Feeling: happy
Admiring: people out there making a real difference
Sorting: out a proper filing system in my study, stuff jammed in folders isn’t working for me anymore
Buying: delicious wintery vegetables (and some delicious red wine to go with them!)
Getting: inspired by some pretty incredible people

Bookmarking: many, many great blog posts – there’s so many fab bloggers out there!
Disliking: walking to work in the rain and wind, get it together Melbourne!
Opening: fun deliveries like my first Native Box purchase
Giggling: often, it’s so important!
Snacking: on dips with pita bread (this dip is on high rotation at the moment!)

Sundried Tomato and Ricotta Dip

Coveting: time and sunshine in equal amounts right now!
Helping: hopefully a few people out there!
Hearing: the timer going on my oven, time to take the cookies out!

Almond Butter Cookies

And there we have it! If you’re keen to play along just copy the list below and feel free to leave your link in the comments and I’ll be sure to check it out!
