Sydney Exploring: Yullis Bar

For my sister’s birthday dinner we met up with two of her work friends and went to Yullis Bar on Crown Street in Surry Hills. Yullis is an all-vegetarian restaurant with an international menu that is designed to be shared, which is always okay with me as it means you get to try more of the food! The restaurant was packed so we sat upstairs in the bar area which still has access to the full menu, it just has stools and low tables. This wasn’t a problem for us though!

Weekend Adventures: Sydney

Last week I managed to skidaddle off work early on Thursday and jumped on a plane to Sydney to spend a long weekend with my sister to celebrate her birthday. I had a bit of a sneaky habit of picking silverbeet from the garden and feeding it to our guinea pigs to try and avoid eating it again for dinner! Luckily those days are long behind me and I actually enjoy eating it now – no guinea pigs required!

Recipe: Soba Noodle Salad

When I’m trying to decide what to make for my work lunches there are a few criteria that the food has to meet. I realised I hadn’t done anything Japanese inspired for lunch for a while, so decided to have a play with soba noodles as they are hearty and delicious and make for a great hot or cold dish. This turned out really tasty – even if the purple carrots stained the noodles!
