I found myself with a large pile of carrots that needed using from my last veggie box delivery, so decided to something a little different and make a carrot hummus to take with me to work and snack on during the week. The recipe is from Hugh Fearnley-Whittingstall’s River Cottage Veg Everyday cookbook and it was both simple and delicious – just how I like recipes to be!
Meat Free Week Challenge
Next week – the 18th to 24th of March is the inaugural Meat Free Week Challenge, which is an Australian initiative to encourage people to eat less meat, and at the same time raise some funds for Voiceless – an organisation that work to raise awareness about factory farming and the impact that eating too much meat has on animal welfare, the planet and our own health.
Recipe: Muesli Muffins
I have been staying at B’s a lot recently due to the filming at my place, and this week will be no exception as they come in for the last round of filming for the season, meaning we need to be out of the house for half the working week. I have to get up earlier at his to get to work, so decided to whip up some muesli muffins packed full of grains, fruit and nuts that I can eat on the go.
Weekend Adventures: Golden Plains Festival
It’s the Labour Day long weekend here in Melbourne, and for me that means heading to Golden Plains Music Festival. Golden Plains is the younger, smaller sister festival to the Meredith Music Festival which has been running for over 20 years, and is held in December. This was the 7th Golden Plains Festival, and my 5th outing to the 2-night music extravangaza.
Italian Feast River Cottage Style
I got the River Cottage Veg Everyday cookbook for Christmas and despite flicking through it and wanting to cook everything from it then and there it has languished on my shelf with all my other cookbooks ever since. That was until I stumbled across Sarah’s blog, Down by the Sea where she will be making as many recipes from the book as she can this year, which inspired me to pull it back off the shelf and make a few things!
