Review and Giveaway: Linenly Bamboo Sheets

This post is in conjunction with Linenly

I had been looking at getting myself some bamboo sheets for ages, so when Linenly reached out to see if I wanted to try a set I jumped at the chance. Best of all – there’s a set for one of you lovely folk as well! So, here’s my thoughts on their bamboo sheets!

Why bamboo sheets?

First things first, I thought I’d talk about why I was so keen to try bamboo sheets – there’s a few reasons! Due to it’s fast-growing nature, bamboo is a sustainable resource as it is easily replenished. It also grows without the need for pesticides or fertilisers, and doesn’t need much in the way of water either. It is high yielding as well – up to ten times more fabric than cotton – which is also an environmental plus. As a fabric it is super soft and silky in feel, and is breathable which is what makes them excellent for bedding. It’s safe to say I had high expectations!

My thoughts on the Linenly sheets

The lovely folk at Linenly sent me a set of their queen sized sheets and a quilt cover. I was very happy when I saw that they are made from 100% organic bamboo fibre and are Oeko-Tex certified. This means that they are made without harsh chemicals, and it’s a worldwide standard. All of this gave me lots of confidence in the quality of the sheets.

The bamboo sheets were as soft and silky as I had hoped, making them an absolute delight to sleep on. They were so smooth and comfortable, and I loved sliding in to them at the end of the day. They’re also really breathable which means I haven’t been waking up overheated, which is super important to me. Each time that I have washed them I have basically wanted to put them straight back on the bed – although a Melbourne winter makes that a little trickier!

There’s a couple of little features I particularly love – including the fact the fitted sheet tells you which is the long side! It sure does make putting them back on the bed that much easier. I also love the pillowcases that came with the set. I have no doubt their silkiness is cutting down breakages in my hair by removing any friction while I sleep.

It’s safe to say I am a massive fan of my Linenly bamboo sheets, and I will be adding more into my rotation soon, that’s for sure!

Would love to compare bamboo to linen. We only use linen as hubby sleeps hot and linen is the best for keeping cool.

The halo of broken hairs I’m currently rocking needs this (not me)… although I may never leave my bed again with such beautiful sheets!

I have been consciously moving towards sustainable practices in my life and home. Haven’t heard of bamboo sheets before, so this would be great to try out and make an informed decision.

Bamboo sounds ideal for my poor curly hair and constant overheating despite going to bed chilly! Does it withstand biscuit-making from kitties? Testing time!

Given that I’ve opted for sustainable options in other rooms of the house, the bedroom is probably the last frontier! Bamboo sheets would be perfect!
