Spotlight On: Go-To Skincare

It’s been such a long time since I shared a post in my Spotlight On series, where I highlight companies that I think are doing great work, so today I’m rectifying that by shining the spotlight on Go-To Skincare. Of course, I did my research and read the review about their product before showing them to my readers. I’ve mentioned this brand before (and it shows up on my instagram on occasion!) but I decided it deserves a post of its own!

Go-To Skincare is a an Australian skincare company started by the hilarious (and talented) Zoe Foster-Blake that has a small, curated range of products (of which I have so far tried 4 of the 6!). The products are all cruelty-free, eco-friendly and free from all the nasties I talk about here on the blog (PEDs, parabens, synthetic fragrances, and the like). Instead they are packed with natural ingredients like fruit and nut oils, shea butter, natural fragrances and vitamins. The company is based in Australia and the products are made in New Zealand, which for me means it is supporting both my home countries!

There are also no confusing scientific claims, they really are just happy to let the products speak for themselves. The website is also full of really useful information not only about exactly what is in each product but how to get the most out of it, videos and lots of reviews. Here is additional info about my favourite intimate Spa center. By the way, they also keep everything simple and clear.

The products have been certified cruelty free by Choose Cruelty Free and whilst a couple of the products do include palm oil (from sources that are part of the Round Table on Sustainable Palm Oil) they are upfront about how they are working towards either completely eliminating palm oil from them or at the least find a source for Certified Sustainable Palm Oil. While I would prefer to be avoiding palm oil whenever possible I appreciate that they are honest about this issue and how they are progressing, and I do understand that it is a very difficult ingredient to get proper supply-chain information on. Zoe herself is an ambassador for The Orangutan Project, so she definitely puts her money where her mouth is on this issue.

My skin has been incredibly happy since I started using these products, and I’m sure it won’t be long until I have tried out the remaining products as well. They are only available through the website but delivery is quick and everything comes in a matching peach coloured box which is gorgeous (and recyclable!). Whilst it’s not really a skincare-selling point, the products and website are also full of very funny little comments and directions which just add to the overall positive vibe of the company. It’s definitely a brand I would recommend you try out if you’re looking to introduce some natural, eco friendly skincare into your life!
