Taking Stock: December 2015

We’re well and truly in the silly season now so I thought it was time to try and slow down a little and reflect using the Taking Stock questions developed by the lovely Pip from Meet Me at Mikes. They’re a great way to stop and examine things going on around you, so I recommend you having a go too! Let me know if you do, I’d love to come have a read!

I’m going to be taking a little break around these parts over Christmas (after one last delicious recipe on Monday!). I’ll probably be popping in with the occasional post but won’t get back into the full swing of things until early January. Instead I’ll be hanging with my family, lying by the pool and going to the cricket which all sounds pretty perfect to me right now! I’ll still be kicking around on facebook & instagram, so if we’re not already friends on them then now is an excellent time to make that happen!

Now, on to the taking stock!

Making : homemade dukkah, and a general mess in the kitchen
Cooking : do salads count as cooking? Coz I’ve been making lots of those!
Drinking : smoothies, iced tea or iced coffee during the day, beer in the evenings

Reading: not a lot! It’s on my to-do list for the next few weeks though, anyone got any recommendations?
Wanting: for very little, I’m healthy, on holidays for a few weeks and spending time with friends and family, can’t complain about any of that
Looking: forward to my sister getting here from Canberra in a couple of days
Deciding: on some travel plans for next year, which is always a fun decision to be making
Wishing: everyone a very merry christmas!
Enjoying: the fact I am officially on holidays as of now!
Waiting: for the tomatoes to ripen on my plants so I can get to eating them
Liking: all the delicious fruit available at the moment, I love this time of year for fruit
Wondering: what to have for dinner tonight, food is always on my mind!
Loving: that a few of my friends who have been living overseas for a while are coming home for Christmas. Yay!
Considering: what salads to make for Christmas lunch
Buying: Christmas presents! I love buying people presents, and I’m pretty on top of things this year which is nice!
Watching: the cricket on the tele, it’s definitely summer!
Hoping:
next year is a bit of a better one for me in some ways
Marvelling: at the fact we’re already at this point of the year
Needing: someone to bring me some iced coffee please!

Taking Stock | I Spy Plum Pie  Smelling: lots of Lush products which I was lucky enough to get given
Wearing: striped t-shirts, shorts and sandals – my summer weekend uniform!
Following: about a million podcasts, there’s so many amazing ones out there at the moment
Thinking: about what I need to pack to go to my folks place for a few days
Admiring: a whole host of people doing great, important work
Sorting: through flight options for a trip next year, it’s more complicated than I was hoping!
Getting: all my presents wrapped and put under the tree

Opening: mail, which seems to be bills more than anything fun!
Giggling: a lot, which is never a bad thing
Feeling: so lucky to have wonderful friends and family who have been extra amazing this year through some not so fun periods
Snacking: on grapes straight from the fridge, cold and delicious!
Helping: someone, somewhere I hope!
Hearing: another wicket fall in the cricket!

That’s it, my Taking Stock for December 2015! Hope you’re all having a wonderful lead-up to Christmas and the end of year!

Ooh I have heard great things about that book, I should keep an eye out for it. And yep, I love my sandals – I’ve worn them so much but they are so incredibly comfy!
