It’s time for my final post on the best places we ate while in Washington DC – dinner at Oyster Oyster! Spoiler alert, this was probably also the absolute best meal we had on our holiday, and one of the best meals I have had in years. A big call, I know!
New Orleans Eating: Coquette
The next stop on my American eating adventures took us to New Orleans! We were there for a long weekend and tried as much of the local cuisine as we could. We did want one fancy dinner though, so booked a Friday night dinner at Coquette.
Recipe: Roasted Pumpkin with Tomato and Pearl Barley
I was after a deliciously warming way to use pumpkin recently and the result was this roasted pumpkin with tomato and pearl barley dish. It’s a one-dish wonder which I absolutely love, and it’s packed with flavour. Perfect for a mid week meal!
Recipe: Mushroom Mapo Tofu
I felt like a rice-based dinner recently and settled on this mushroom mapo tofu and I’m very glad I did! It was seriously tasty, easy to make and ready in no time too! Perfect for a quick mid-week dinner and vegan friendly as well.
Washington DC Eating: Albi
The next stop on our Washington DC eating adventures was dinner at Albi. Given the focus is on Levantine cooking I was very excited as it’s one of my favourite cuisines (and veg friendly!). The space was lovely, the staff were incredibly helpful and we could see into the kitchen which I always love. A couple of weeks after we visited Albi was awarded their first Michelin star, so it’s probably going to come as no surprise that we loved our visit!
