Recipe: Lemongrass Tofu Banh Mi

Banh mi is one of my favourite lunches but unfortunately there is nowhere near my work to get a good one, so I decided to take matters into my own hands and whip up some of my own! Complete with pickled veggies and plenty of chilli, this recipe for lemongrass tofu banh mi is definitely a winner!

Review: Xeom Street Food, Collingwood

On one of the recent very hot Melbourne days B and I decided to avoid doing any cooking and try one of the new restaurants to open on Smith Street recently – Xeom Street Food. Xeom does Vietnamese street food and the restaurant is brightly lit and welcoming. The walls are lined with jars, bottles and faux-propaganda posters and there are even a couple of tables set up like little carts.

Recipe: Tofu Vermicelli Bowl

I’ve gone a bit Vietnamese food crazy lately, with pad thai, rice paper rolls and the like making regular appearances in my kitchen. This tofu vermicelli bowl has also been a part of the mix and I’ve been loving the mix of fresh, crispy vegetables, lightly fried tofu and lots of herbs and chilli.

Review: The Rickshaw, Fitzroy

One very warm Saturday night B and I couldn’t face cooking anything in the heat so ventured out to find food as close to home as we could muster. I had walked past The Rickshaw a few times since it took over a former Indian restaurant and after a quick perusal of the menu we decided to give it a go!
