If you are a fan of I Spy Plum Pie on facebook you might have seen the amazing looking raw, vegan lasagne I posted on Friday. That beauty was from Sadhana Kitchen, a cafe/yoga studio in Newtown. Sadhana Kitchen is in a warehouse tucked down a sidestreet off Enmore Street and it prides itself on making delicious meals using living, wholefoods as well as cold pressed juices and smoothies, cakes and other sweet things. (more…)
Despite the fact I live at the other end of Smith Street to Trippy Taco I hadn’t been for a really long time, but in the last few weeks I have rectified this with two delicious visits. Trippy Taco is a vegetarian institution in Collingwood, having been first on Smith Street and now around the corner on Gerturde Street for over 10 years. They serve Mexican street food that is all vegetarian, with lots of vegan and gluten free options, and it’s always doing a roaring trade of both takeaway and eat-in food. It’s also fully licensed so you can enjoy a Mexican beer with your tacos – always important!
This is the third instalment of my series profiling brands I love that are doing great things with natural, planet friendly products. Today the focus is on Original & Mineral (or O&M as they seem to be known!) which is an Australian brand selling hair products that are all free of ammonia and other nasties, whilst still being salon quality. In fact, the brand started in an Australian salon and the products including dyes, shampoos, conditioners and styling products are used in salons across Australia. Luckily, they are also available for purchase to be used at home!
So what happens when 4 meat eaters (and one vegetarian) walk in to a vegetarian only burger joint? I promise this isn’t the start of a terrible joke, but rather the events of one rainy Melbourne evening!
And we’re back for the third instalment of the tour of vegetarian friendly pubs! If you missed stop 1 and two, you can find them here and here! This time I headed to the Union Club Hotel in Fitzroy for an easy Saturday night meal. The place was absolutely packed, but we managed to find ourselves a table on the outside roof deck (which luckily has heaters!) and settled in for our dinner.
