London Eating: The Gate, Islington
The last meal I had out in London was at The Gate, an all vegetarian restaurant that has been around since 1989 with two restaurants – one in Hammersmith and the one we went to, in Islington. They describe their food as Indo-Iraqi Jewish – a blend of Indian and Arabic cuisines with traditional Jewish food.
London Eating: Ottolenghi, Islington
The very first night I arrived in London the friends I was staying with informed me they had managed to snag us a dinner reservation at Ottolenghi in Islington. Ottolenghi has 5 restaurants and delis across London, with the Islington one his very first.
Recipe: Tofu Tikka Masala
Since arriving back from (mostly) sunny Europe to freezing cold Melbourne I’ve been all about the hearty, warming winter meals. This tofu tikka masala really hit the spot and helped me feel a little less sad about my holidays being well and truly over!
