Review: New Jaffa, Collingwood

Over the Queens Birthday long weekend I finally had the chance to give New Jaffa a try for lunch. It’s been on my list since it opened, so when my family asked me to pick somewhere for us to go it was an easy choice. I love Middle Eastern food so knew this would be right up my alley, and it’s safe to say I wasn’t disappointed!

Now, I know that hummus has lemon and garlic in it anyway, but trust me when I tell you this lemon garlic hummus is different. It really amps up those flavours and brings them to the fore, and it’s delicious! Perfect for snacking on and for spreading on your sandwiches and wraps. Yum!

Recipe: Harissa Hummus

Hummus has got to be one the of easiest dips not only to make, but to change up as well. I’ve already shared a few different varieties here on I Spy Plum Pie over the last two years, and there seems to be no end of options still to make! For today’s variety I wanted something with a little kick and so harissa hummus it is!

Recipe: Red Pepper Hummus

A few weeks back I started doing twice-weekly group personal training (did someone say summer is coming?!) and by the time I finish the session and make it home again I am super hungry. I have been trying to make sure I always have something healthy on hand to have a quick snack on before I get dinner prepared, and hummus has been perfect for that. Not only is it super delicious but the chickpeas are high in protein, so it’s ideal fuel for after exercise. I had made plain hummus, and sundried tomato hummus, so I decided it was time to have a play with a new flavour – and red pepper hummus it is!
