It’s April Favourite Finds time, but it’s definitely not been the easiest month for everyone. As I’m sure has been the case for all of you, it’s really been a month of staying home, keeping myself busy and getting used to this new normal. However, I’m trying to focus on the positives. Highlighting products or foods I have found this month is what my Favourite Finds series is all about, and now more than ever we need to support local businesses. So, here are my April Favourite Finds!
Organic Ease Produce Boxes
When I lived in sharehouses I used to order produce boxes all the time. Since being in an apartment I haven’t been able to do that as there’s nowhere safe to leave them while I’m at work. One of the benefits of being home all time is that I’m here when deliveries arrive, so I have started ordering produce boxes again!
I got two this month from Organic Ease and both were excellent. The first one was a mixed fruit & veggie box (with added bread!) and the second was a vegetable only one. The variety was excellent, and it included not just your super standard veggies. It’s made me have to really think about what I am cooking for the week ahead which is a good way to stretch myself. I also love that the box is completely plastic free. I will be ordering more for as long as I am working from home!
Frank Body Vitamin C Mask
I have shared my love for Frank Body products in the past but I added a new goodie to the mix this month. Like lots of people, I have basically wearing no makeup while working from home, but have upped the skincare side of things instead. I added this mask to the mix and I have been loving it. It leaves my skin feeling bright and refreshed and is super quick and easy to use. It’s fast become a core part of my weekly regime and a definite April favourite find!
Supporting Local Restaurants
I was never much of a takeaway person. It was something I mostly did when I had friends over, or otherwise every couple of months. Since being in self-isolation I have decided that given I am lucky enough to still have a job I will order in food from the places I normally like to sit-in and eat at to hopefully help ensure they can reopen when this is all over. Enter, lots of takeaway!
I have really focused on places I used to visit a lot, but that doesn’t exactly create the shortest of lists! Thankfully there is a good mix of healthier and more indulgent options, and most cuisines have been covered as well. It’s safe to say I have been eating well while in isolation!
It’s been amazing to see how different businesses have pivoted operations to enable them to stay operational. Given it’s going to be tough for a while I will continue to do whatever I can to help out. It’s really not difficult at all from my end – look how good some of the meals I’ve had are!
To counterbalance the additional takeaway I have been also doing a lot of walking. Every morning I make sure I go for a walk (and get a coffee on the way home!) which has been beneficial on so many fronts. However, it did mean I was looking for more leggings to add to my collection. I wanted to support a local, eco-friendly brand and once I stumbled across d+k active I knew I needed to give them a try. Not only did they tick both of those boxes, but the leggings looked fun and lots of styles have decent pockets, which is something I always look for. They turned out to be super comfy and have gone in to high rotation in my collection. I will be ordering more, that’s for sure!
