Just a short post today to say a very Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to you all. It’s hard to believe I’ve been tapping away at this blog for getting close to a year now, but I’m having a lot of fun doing it and I have ‘met’ some lovely people along the way.
The other day I shared some of the bits and pieces I have been eating recently, and today I wanted to do something similar but with some non-food things! It might be hard to believe, but I do occasionally do things that don’t revolve around food! And don’t forget, you can always follow I Spy Plum Pie on facebook or instagram if you’d like to connect outside of the blog – I’m pretty friendly, I promise!
Whilst I tend to share a lot of the food I’m eating with you here on the blog – either things I have cooked, or places I have visited, some of it ends up just on the I Spy Plum Pie facebook and instagram pages, and some of it, well nowhere at all! So today I thought I’d share some bits and pieces with you from what I’ve been eating (well, mainly snacking on) lately!
Today I wanted to talk about an organisation I think is doing some amazing work – Street Smart Australia – and in particular their current fundraising campaign, Dine Smart. Since 2003, Street Smart has been working to raise funds for smaller, grassroots organisations who work to help the homeless. Most of these organisations deal with people in crisis situations, and they are often so stretched that they can’t properly fundraise for themselves or help raise awareness of the issue of homelessness, so Street Smart is there to help bridge that gap through the provision of grants and community awareness campaigns.
June has arrived which means winter is no longer coming, it’s right here! It’s been a slight struggle for me to reacclimatise after 10 days of tropical warmth and sunshine, but I’m now well in the habit of rugging up and embracing whatever sunshine comes my way! (more…)
