I’ve been nominated by the super lovely Carly from Smaggle to participate in the Liebster Awards, so here we are! It’s basically a little chain that is passed along from blogger to blogger with questions asked and answered along the way! You’re supposed to answer the questions given by the person before, then ask 10 questions of your own and nominate some other bloggers to answer them! It’s a lovely way to find some new blogs to read too!
So here are my answers to Carly’s questions!
1. Do you have a favourite mug? What happens if someone else uses it?
I do at work, I bought it in Japan but it lives on my desk (things go missing in our kitchen!) so there’s little chance of it not being there when I want it! I’m less fussy at home, I like all my mugs because I bought them!
2. If you were going to audition for The X Factor (or other such competitive reality singing show) what would your power song be?
Oh boy, I reckon it would Total Eclipse of the Heart by Bonnie Tyler. Can’t really beat that as a power song!
3. Is there anyone that you would erase from your memory like in Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind?
I don’t think so, I’ve been pretty lucky not to have any terrible people in my life thus far. Although I wouldn’t mind erasing the guy who rang me and abused me down the phone in my first year of full time work (using language I don’t think I could ever repeat!) for something that had nothing to do with me, or even my organisation. That wasn’t much fun!
4. What’s your spirit animal and why? (Or for Potter-heads what would your Patronus be?)
Hmm, I can’t say I’ve ever given this much thought before! I asked B and he immediately said a quokka, so I’ll go with that. Everyone loves a quokka!
5. What’s your favourite quote?
I have a couple! One is the Julia Child’s quote “you don’t have to cook fancy or complicated masterpieces, just good food from fresh ingredients” which is definitely how I approach my cooking, and the other is “the grass is greener where you water it“ because it really reminds me that we have to work for what we want
6. Would you rather eat a spider or have sex with Fat Bastard?
Despite the fact I’m a vegetarian I’m going to go with the eating a spider option. Back in my pre-vego days I actually ate some fried grasshopper in China which basically just tasted like crunchy nothingness, so if it can be cooked like that I think I’d be fine!
7. Which celebrity would play you in a movie?
Hmm, I guess if they’re playing me now then it needs to be someone with red hair. Maybe Isla Fisher? I’m never good at answering this question!
8. What’s the worst thing you’ve ever smelled?
Not sure about ever, but my worst is recent times was the other week at work when it was my turn to clean the fridge at work. It had clearly been neglected for quite some time beforehand and I opened the lid on a container that I think used to be a Thai soup of some kind and instantly gagged. The smell didn’t leave my nose for a very long time, it wasn’t pretty.
9. Name three things in your fridge.
Pickled carrot (because I’m obsessed with it at the moment!), feta (baked beans, feta & avocado on toast is my current favourite breakfast) and almond milk.
10. It’s time for dessert and you can have ANYTHING – what do you have?
I’m not a huge dessert eater but I do love ice-cream or gelato or anything lemon flavoured. So maybe a lemon tart served with some really good ice cream. I’m simple to please!
Now here are my 10 questions!
-
If you could have a mild superpower, what would you choose?
-
What’s the strangest food you’ve ever eaten?
-
If you could go anywhere in the world right now where would you choose?
-
Cheese or chocolate?
-
Do you have a noise you can’t stand?
-
What’s your drink of choice?
-
Worst job you’ve ever had?
-
What (or who) is guaranteed to make you laugh?
-
Do you have a party trick? If not, what’s the best party trick you’ve ever seen?
-
Backstreet Boys, 5ive or N*Sync?
Now I’m supposed to be tagging 10 bloggers to play along but this has been doing the rounds for the last few weeks so I’ve lost track of who has already taken part! Instead I’m going to tag six bloggers and then open the floor to anyone that wants to play along! Just copy your link into the comments and I’ll head over to read your answers!

August 26, 2014 at 8:58 pm (10 years ago)I had to laugh at whether you’d rather eat a spider or sleep with Fat Bastard – both horrible options, but I guess the spider would be mildly better! xx
