January has been a pretty hectic month for me – I’ve taken the plunge and I’m getting a whole new kitchen and bathroom in my apartment! As a result, the first half of the month was all about making decisions and packing things, and the rest has been living out of my suitcase! My January favourite finds are therefore non-renovation-related pockets that brought me calm or joy this month! I’d love to hear about your January favourite finds too!
Hello There Cheeky Earrings
My sister bought me these gorgeous earrings as part of my Christmas present and I seriously love them. Every time I wear them I get stopped by people who comment on how great they are, and for good reason! I love the patterns and the colours, and they’re not too heavy either so I can wear them all day and night without any issues. I’ll definitely be keeping an eye out for other designs too!
My gorgeous friend Sarah (aka Spoonful of Sarah) created this beautiful book full of quotes which she released just before Christmas. I was lucky enough to have one arrive in my letterbox and I’ve been loving flicking to a new quote to match my mood each week (or day!). It’s such a great addition to my desk and includes some of my absolute favourite motivational quotes. They sold like hotcakes, but I recommend keeping an eye out for if/when they are restocked!
Sticky Fingers Green Thumb Cookbook
Another of the Christmas gifts I was lucky enough to receive was this gorgeous cookbook – Sticky Fingers Green Thumb. It’s full of amazing looking recipes which feature native Australian ingredients and other super interesting combinations. I haven’t had the chance to bake anything from it yet – packing up your entire kitchen makes that tricky – but you can bet it will be on high rotation in my fancy new kitchen come March!
Earlier in the month I took a packing break to have a delicious selection of vegan eats at Woking Amazing and I so can’t wait to go back and eat more of their menu! It started as a food truck and has only relatively recently set up shop in Collingwood and I’m so glad they did. I think the menu rotates a bit too, so there will be plenty more for me to try.
Most of the dishes were spring onion pancake based with all kinds of interesting fillings. The ‘peking duck’ one was everyone’s favourite, although the crunchy mushrooms, kimchi topped fries and caesar salad were also super delicious. I can’t wait to be back in the hood for more delicious eats in their back courtyard!
