Recipe: Rainbow Quinoa Salad

Even though the weather has cooled down I’m still making up big salads for my work lunches as I find them super satisfying no matter what. Plus, it helps me pretend it’s slightly warmer than it really is! This salad was created because I knew I wanted to make a quinoa salad but I didn’t know what I wanted to put with it, so in the end I went with a rainbow assortment of vegetables, lots of herbs and a simple dressing of lemon juice. It turned out SO delicious and all the colour made me happy every time I ate it. Can’t ask for more than that from your lunch really!

Pubs for Vegetarians: The Union Club Hotel

And we’re back for the third instalment of the tour of vegetarian friendly pubs! If you missed stop 1 and two, you can find them here and here! This time I headed to the Union Club Hotel in Fitzroy for an easy Saturday night meal. The place was absolutely packed, but we managed to find ourselves a table on the outside roof deck (which luckily has heaters!) and settled in for our dinner.

Meat Free Mondays: A How To Guide

Meat Free Mondays is a campaign that is gaining momentum across the world – promoting everyone to go one day a week without eating meat to help benefit both their own health and that of the planet. Obviously as a vegetarian it’s not something that I find hard to take part in, but today I wanted to share some information about the campaign and also some advice for people wanting to get involved, or trying to get others involved.

Vanuatu Adventures: Finding Vegetarian Food in Port Vila

Travelling to a tropical island as two vegetarians, we knew we were setting ourselves somewhat of a culinary challenge. Vanuatu is known for two things food wise – seafood (including coconut crabs, which don’t actually live in water!) and beef – neither of which were much help to us! We did a bit of research before we left but there was very little information available, so I thought I would share my experiences with you all in case it can be of any help to someone in the future!
