Somehow April appears to have turned into a ‘challenges’ month for me – albeit of the fun kind! I finally decided to participate in both Fat Mum Slim’s Photo a Day Challenge, and Fox in Flats Style Dare a Day Challenge, as well as the Simple Green Smoothie‘s 30 Day Challenge (kind-of!).
If you don’t know how the Fat Mum Slim and Fox in Flats Challenges work, basically each month both ladies release a daily challenge list which you then try and achieve and take a photo of each day. The photos can be posted on instagram, facebook, twitter or anywhere else really! I have been posting mine on instagram each day, and occasionally on facebook as well, but thought I would share my first week here too!
Fat Mum Slim Photo A Day – Week 1
| The Challenge | Play – Game of Thrones | Blue – Ring & Belt | A – Art (of the street variety)
| This happened – Drinks at Section 8 | Something good – Karaoke night | Air – High in the Air | Dreamy – The Hotel Bed |
What I’m enjoying about this challenge is that it’s making me look around me more each day, trying to find a something to photograph that works with the days challenge – some days are easier than others! You can get involved using the hashtag #fmsphotoaday
Fox in Flats Style Dare A Day – Week 1
| The Challenge | Arm Party of Bracelets | Sparkly Nail Polish | Pink Scarf |
| Slick of Black Eyeliner | Hot Pink Lips | New Black Boots | Dress |
I’m really enjoying this challenge as some days it takes me right out of my comfort zone, and has had me pulling out things I barely wear (like scarves in general!) which is never a bad thing! Some of the days ahead could be very challenging – but that’s part of the fun! You can join the fun by using the hashtag #FoxInFlatsStyleDare
Simple Green Smoothies 30 Day Challenge
The Simple Green Smoothies Challenge is a bit different. The ladies behind the website send out a list of recipes each week, and a shopping list to follow. Due to the fact I get an organic box of fruit and veggies delivered and therefore can’t guarantee I will have the necessary ingredients I am not strictly following the challenge, but instead using it as a way to expand the variety of my morning breakfast smoothies by gaining inspiration through their recipes. I had been getting stuck in a bit of a rut and making the same thing most days, so this has been an excellent way to get new ideas, and I’m loving the new flavour combinations I have been trying!
Pineapple, Pear, Almond Milk & Spinach
Spinach, Pear, Banana, Ginger, Cinnamon & Coconut Water
What do you think about monthly challenges? Are you keen to give any of these a go?
