It’s May Favourite Finds time and this month is purely food focussed! I picked up some amazing goodies this month that all deserved to be shared with you fine folk. Breakfast, lunch or dinner, I’ve got something for ever meal of the day. I’d love to hear about your May Favourite Finds as well – food or otherwise!
We used to visit Milawa a bit when I was a kid, but back then the mustard shop wasn’t all that exciting to me. However when we found ourselves in the vicinity of Milawa whilst in north-east Victoria I knew a visit was a must. After trying all the mustards on offer I showed significant restraint to only come home with one. In fact, given how much I have been using it since I probably should have bought more!
I spotted this jar of picked cauliflower while at the Big Vegan Market and knew straightaway it was coming home with me. I didn’t even hesitate to buy it, and rightly so. It is seriously delicious – zesty and punchy but still with lots of crunch. I have been tossing it through salads, putting it in toasties, you name it. I don’t think this jar will last all that long either! This is definitely one of my May Favourite Finds but maybe even one of my finds of the year!
Bircher Bar Muesli
Full disclosure, these goodies were sent to me to try, but I’m only sharing them here because I genuinely have freakin’ loved them. I have been rotating between different mueslis for breakfast and I haven’t yet settled on a favourite because they’re all so damn tasty! Today, I think the fruit & spice mix might be just a nose in front.
I love how packed with fruit and nuts they all are, and the combo of grains (in the ones that have grains!) that goes beyond just oats. So good! I have only tried the chai latte mix of the drinks so far and that was delicious as well. I have a tasty winter ahead of me!
These goodies were another Big Vegan Market find! I tried all the options they had on display but couldn’t go past these two – plus another of the ginger ones for my mum. I was recommended to try the eggplant pickle on top of some roast potatoes and given that was combining two of my favourite things I did just that. It was as good as I had hoped!
The ginger sauce was actually the first to catch my eye. It does what it says on the label – it definitely zings! I have used this as a baked tofu marinade which was amazing, and as stir fry sauce which was equally excellent. I might have to restock on all my May favourite finds at this rate!
