In the lead-up to Christmas my December GoodnessMe Box arrived, and it was another winner. Once again I got the vegan option and it was packed with 14 items, which is pretty great value in my books. So, here’s what was inside!
Barney Butter: Almond Butter
Almond butter is my favourite of the nut butters, and I had heard good things about Barney Butter so I was keen to try it out. These sachets are excellent for taking to work with the apple or carrot sticks for a mid morning snack, and the almond butter itself is delicious. I’m definitely keen to get my hands on a full sized jar now!
Great Ocean Road Wholefoods: Gut Tea
Like many people, my gut and I aren’t always on the best of terms, so I was super interested to give this tea a try. It has lots of my favourite ingredients in a tea – peppermint, lemon balm, ginger and fennel – so it’s super delicious. I took it to work and have been enjoying it in the afternoon. I can’t say for sure that it’s helping my gut, but it sure isn’t hurting it!
Nuun Hydration
This electrolyte hydration tablet came in handy after a long day outside on one of Melbourne’s summer scorchers. Whilst I made sure I had lots of water I still felt a little dehydrated, so I popped this in some water and it seemed to do the trick. It tasted good too!
Noir Cosmetics: Activated Teeth Whitening Charcoal
I had used charcoal toothpaste before, although only in a paste rather than loose like this one, so I was intrigued to give it a try. I only just started using it recently, and it certainly takes a little getting used to using a powder as a toothpaste, that’s for sure! I like that it still has a peppermint flavour and it seems to be working at keeping my breath fresh. Hopefully the whitening side is working too!
Kez’s Kitchen: Raw Choc Nut Cookie
Even as someone without that much of a sweet tooth, I definitely enjoyed this raw cookie. It was nutty, chocolately and delicious. I popped this in my handbag straight away after my December GoodnessMe Box arrived and it didn’t last long in there!
June Superfoods: Tropical Sport
This was another excellent summer addition, with a coconut water base and an orangey flavour. I used it on another hot day and it was refreshing, tasty and perfect to keep me going through a warm afternoon.
Kitz Living Foods: Turmeric & Ginger Bar
This is the second Kitz Living Food bar that I have tried through the GoodnessMe Box and it was another delicious one. I love anything ginger flavoured and this was bursting with spicy, delicious flavour. I love the size of these bars, they’re just big enough to make an excellent snack without being too big to have in one serve. Perfect!
Healthy Empire Goods: Morning Companion
This smoothie mix was another interesting find, it’s packed with protein, vitamins and probiotics and doesn’t even require anything except milk to be added. The combo of oats, chia and protein powder definitely filled me right up, but I didn’t particularly love the texture. The flavour wasn’t too bad though, but I’m not sure I’d buy these for myself (they can’t all be winners!).
Pickld: Coriander Seasoning Premium Blend
I love pretty much any seasoning blend (as long as its made with top notch ingredients!) so I was excited to give this Pickld variety a go. The coriander seasoning has a little bit of spice to it and worked so well on roast veggies, especially cauliflower and sweet potatoes. I am definitely going to keep an eye out for more flavours in their range – the chilli sesame one is calling my name!
Karma Cola
I had tried this cola before – as well as other flavours in the range – and it was another excellent summer treat. The sugar free version is probably not my absolute favourite as I’m not a huge fan of the taste of stevia, but it was still very welcome drink to have on hand on a hot day!
Morlife: Spiced Pumpkin Curry Quinoa Risotto
I haven’t actually tried this risotto yet as I’m keeping it on hand for when I need a quick dinner option. It sounds delicious though, as well as healthy and convenient. I’ll probably add some veggies when I do make it, but I shall report back with how I find it!
Table of Plenty: Pink Lady Apple Muesli
I don’t often have muesli these days, but I really enjoyed this one with some yoghurt and berries one Saturday morning. It wasn’t too sweet, had lots of identifiable ingredients like nuts, seeds and fruit and no added sugar. It’s definitely a brand I would buy for those mornings that I feel like something simple like muesli for breakfast. Plus, I’m keen to try out their kefir as well!
The Powder People: Reishi Mushroom Powder
This item wasn’t on the card included in my box, but it was an excellent surprise addition. I know some people use it to add to their coffees, but I’m currently using it to flavour things like stocks, risotto and pastas and it sure is delicious. It adds a real depth of flavour to whatever I am cooking!
Life of Cha: Crystal Blue Tea
This Life of Cha tea was another goodie that wasn’t listed on my card, but it was a pretty spectacular addition. It looks like a normal herbal tea in the packet but actually brews bright blue – or even purple if you add lemon! I’m back on the tea bandwagon before bed every night and this has been a delicious way to wind down in the evening. I love the lemongrass flavour, and the colour isn’t too shabby either!
