Somehow another month has rolled around and it’s time for my review of the January GoodnessMe Box for 2018! Like usual, I got the vegan box again this month and, spoiler alert, it was another winner. There was one item in particular I was excited to receive, but you’ll have to keep reading to find out more!
Naked Life: Lemon Squash
I don’t drink a lot of soft drink, but sometimes when it’s really hot I find it super appealing. So, with all the hot weather we’ve had lately I was pretty happy to have this bottle in my fridge! It was ultra lemony which I absolutely love, and the fact that it’s completely free from sugar and artificial sweeteners is even better. I’ll definitely be keeping my eye out to try more of their range soon!
Harvest Box: Apple Tart Snack Pack
I often take nuts to work to snack on, so this Harvest Box pack was right up my alley. I loved the combo of apple, cranberry and cashews, and even though I don’t particularly love peanuts they were actually ok too! This pack came with me to work, but I can imagine they would be perfect for flights or day-trips. There’s a whole range of options on their website that sound delish as well (hello almond latte or spiced up!).
Nutra Organics
The January GoodnessMe Box came with three different sachets of Nutra Organics products. Two are designed for post-workout (or just everyday life!) and one pre-workout for a protein boost. Personally, I added each of them to the smoothie I have post my morning workout, and just made sure the rest of the smoothie ingredients matched the sachet! I really liked the protein version in a creamy almond-cacao smoothie, whilst the other two both went well in my green smoothies. I’ve now tried a few of the Nutra Organics products through my GoodnessMe Box subscription and I’m pretty impressed with them all so far!
Whole Earth: Nature Sweet
I don’t use sugar in my tea or coffee, so I haven’t cracked this box open yet. I’m planning on using some of the sachet for my next batch of iced tea, which often does need sweetening. I shall report back on how it tastes and how well it dissolves. If it works it will be a great alternative to refined sugar for those kinds of drinks!
Rosehip Plus: Organic Daily Cream Cleanser
I absolutely love cream cleansers. I use them as part of my daily skincare routine and I had just finished one, so I have been using this for the last week or so. It smells lovely, and it leaves my skin feeling soft, clean and hydrated. I love that it doesn’t have any of the nasty ingredients I try to avoid in my skincare (parabens and the like). I’ll definitely be checking out more of their range!
BSKT Wholefoods: Vegan Chocolate Bar
For someone who doesn’t eat a lot of chocolate, I was surprised by how much I enjoyed this bar. It wasn’t too sweet, the texture was great and I particularly loved the maca and espresso flavour. It was a perfect mid-afternoon pick-me-up on a rather gruelling day in the office. The mint slice flavour sounds pretty tempting as well!
Blue Dinosaur: Super Bite
I’ve now tried a couple of these Blue Dinosaur bars, and this was another delicious flavour. After my friend Sarah (Ms Matcha Maiden herself) got me hooked on all things matcha it’s become one of my go-to flavours. This was spot on flavour-wise and also made for a great snack. I do love the size of these little bars, they keep hunger at bay without going overboard. Yum!
Onno Behrends: Green Tea
My tea collection is getting a little out of hand thanks to all the teas that I’ve received in past GoodnessMe Boxes! The good news is it has made me get back in the habit of drinking more tea at home, plus the options on my desk are now pretty impressive too! These green tea bags came straight to work with me and have been a great post-lunch option.
Hemp Food Australia: Organic Hemp Seeds
Last but definitely not least, the most exciting item in the January GoodnessMe Box for me! Hemp seeds have only recently (finally!) become legal in Australia, and as they are such a great source of protein, amino acids and fibre I was keen to get my hands on some. So, I was pretty excited to find these in the box this month! I’ve been sprinkling them on salads, in smoothies and on yoghurt all month long, and loving it. Trying products like this is exactly why I subscribe to this kind of box!
