It’s been a while since I have shared a cocktail recipe on the blog! With Spring in the air it felt the right time to share something fresh and delicious and these grapefruit strawberry mimosas sure do hit the mark! Simple to make, limited ingredients and oh-so-tasty!
- Grapefruit juice
- Sparkling wine
- Slice six strawberries and combine with grapefruit juice in a cocktail shaker
- Shake to combine, and leave to let the flavours combine for as long as you can
- When ready to serve, strain the grapefruit juice into your glasses and top with sparkling wine
- Garnish with a strawberry and serve
That’s literally all there is to these grapefruit strawberry mimosas! So simple, and so delicious. Whilst the longer you leave the flavours to combine the better, they can be served pretty much straight away if need be too, you just won’t get as much strawberry flavour coming through.
I like to go about half-half juice to sparkling wine, but play around and see what ratio you like best. It might also depend what time of day you’re serving these grapefruit strawberry mimosas, but you do you! They’ll be delicious either way!
I love the combination of tart grapefruit and sweet strawberries and of course the sparkling wine! I used an Australian sparkling that came in my most recent Naked Wines order and it worked perfectly. Such an excellent drink for a celebration, fancy brunch or really just because you want to!
If you’re going to need to serve a big group then you can definitely combine the grapefruit and strawberries in big batches, but definitely add the sparkling as you serve to make sure it stays nice and bubbly. No one wants a flat mimosa!
