The holiday season is definitely upon us, so it seemed appropriate to share my current favourite cocktail with you all! This pomegranate lime cocktail is refreshing, delicious and seriously simple to whip up. Perfect for warm summer nights and ultra Christmassy as well!
Ingredients List
- 1 part pomegranate juice
- 1 part rum or gin
- Juice of a lime
- Pomegranate arils
- Soda water
- Ice
Steps
- Combine the pomegranate juice, alcohol and lime juice in a cocktail shaker with ice and shake until combined
- Place ice in a glass and pour the shaken cocktail through the strainer
- Add pomegranate arils then top with soda water
This pomegranate lime cocktail is tart and oh so delicious. I don’t like overly sweet things, so this suits me absolutely perfectly! It works just as well with gin as it does with rum, so go for whichever is your favourite of the spirits!
You can either use the pomegranate juice you squeeze from the actual fruit, or for larger quantities purchase some 100% pomegranate juice.
The quantities above are for one cocktail, so just increase to suit your needs. If you’re making a big batch then you can mix it all together in a jug rather than a cocktail shaker. Just keep the pomegranate seeds and some lime wedges for your individual glasses.
I think I’ll be whipping up this pomegranate lime cocktail a few times over the coming weeks! A glass of this sitting by the pool at my folks place may be just what the doctor ordered over the Christmas break!
