I’ve been seeing images of cauliflower steaks online for ages now, so decided it was time to see what the fuss was about. I whipped up these garlic paprika cauliflower steaks for dinner one night and they were as good as I had hoped. So easy to make, they’ve fast become mid-week dinner staples for me!
I slightly amended a recipe I found at Not Quite Nigella
Ingredients List
- Medium cauliflower
- 4tbs olive oil
- 2 cloves garlic
- 2tsp smoked paprika
- 1tsp cumin
- 1tsp garlic salt
- Ground black pepper
Steps
- Preheat oven to 200C
- Remove the leaves from the cauliflower and then slice vertically to make thick steaks
- Combine the oil, minced garlic, spices, salt and pepper in a jug
- Brush the marinade over both sides of the steaks then place on a lined tray
- Roast for 20 minutes, then turn and roast for a further 15 minutes
- Serve with veggies
I told you these garlic paprika cauliflower steaks were simple! I love the marinade, especially with the added garlicky deliciousness from the garlic salt. If you’ve got any leftover cauliflower florets I recommend tossing them in the same marinade and roasting until crispy – they go very well in salads!
You can obviously serve these with whatever veggies you have on hand, but I do love pairing them with potatoes and greens like you would a traditional steak. Sure, the cauliflower steak is not going to replicate the meat version, but that’s not really the point!
It’s a particularly excellent dinner for nights you need to be doing a few things at once. You can pop the veggies in the oven and only have to worry about turning things once. Perfect!
